Treat yourself, family, and friends to an enjoyable evening at the Tavistock Country Club in Haddonfield, NJ on Sunday, October 17 2010 from 5 PM to 9 PM.
The menu will include soup, salad, and a choice from three entrees, two vegetables, rolls, and dessert. If available Penn State, Creamery ice cream will be served. Cost: $32 per person.
Our Guest Speakers will be:
Mike McCloskey, the tight end on Penn State’s first Nation Championship football team in 1982. With 78 seconds on the clock, the Lions were four points behind and 65 yards from a touchdown, Mike caught a 15-yard pass from Todd Blackledge to set up the winning score for a PSU 27-24 win. Mike played on the NFL for the Houston Oilers and the Philadelphia Eagles. Yet the question that Mike still gets the most is the about his famous sideline catch on Penn State’s Nation Championship season.
Joe Juliano, sports writer for the Philadelphia Inquirer. Joe specializes in writing about college sports and is very knowledgeable about Penn State. He also is a golf writer, so he should enjoy speaking at Tavistock. Joe is very involved in the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association. A Temple University graduate, Temple lists him as the Sports Editor.
This is a great opportunity for Penn State Alumni from Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester counties to meet socially and learn more about each other and the Southern New Jersey Chapter.
Proceeds from this event support Chapter scholarships and charities.
